Fee Information

1. Fee Overview

REC Marketplace charges trading fees on marketplace transactions. These fees help maintain the platform, fund smart contract audits, and support the renewable energy ecosystem.

There are no fees for issuing (minting) RECs — you only pay the blockchain gas fee in ETH.

2. Trading Fees

USDT Transactions: 3% trading fee. For example, purchasing 10 RECs at 45 USDT each costs 450 USDT + 13.50 USDT fee = 463.50 USDT total.

RECEN Transactions: 1.5% trading fee. For example, purchasing 10 RECs at 23 RECEN each costs 230 RECEN + 3.45 RECEN fee = 233.45 RECEN total.

Trading with RECEN tokens saves you 50% on fees compared to USDT. This incentive is designed to encourage adoption of the platform's native token.

3. REC Pricing

The current fixed price per REC unit is: 1 REC = 45 USDT (Tether) or 1 REC = 23 RECEN (RECEN Token).

Prices are set in the marketplace smart contract and may be adjusted through platform governance. Price changes are announced in advance and apply to all new listings.

The total value of a certificate depends on how many REC units it contains. For example, a certificate with 5 RECs is valued at 225 USDT or 115 RECEN.

4. Blockchain Gas Fees

All blockchain transactions require gas fees paid in ETH. Gas fees are separate from platform trading fees and are determined by network congestion.

Gas fees apply to: minting new RECs, listing RECs on the marketplace, purchasing RECs, transferring RECs to another wallet, retiring (burning) RECs.

During the beta period on Sepolia Testnet, gas fees are paid with test ETH which can be obtained for free from faucets.

5. Fee Collection

Trading fees are automatically collected by the marketplace smart contract at the time of transaction. No manual invoicing or billing is required.

The fee is deducted from the buyer's payment. The seller receives the full listing price, and the fee is transferred to the platform treasury.

6. Free Actions

The following actions are free (gas fees still apply): creating/minting new REC certificates, viewing your dashboard and portfolio, browsing the marketplace, connecting/disconnecting your wallet, claiming test tokens from the faucet.

7. Fee Changes

Fee structures may be updated through platform governance. Any changes will be announced at least 7 days in advance and will only apply to transactions after the effective date. Historical transactions are not affected by fee changes.
